The Central do Cerrado is a non-profit initiative established among 19 community-based organizations which have productive activities based on sustainable use of Cerrado biodiversity. The Central do Cerrado acts as a bridge between communities producing and consumers, offering high quality products.
In addition to promoting diffusion of community-based products making sustainable use of the Cerrado in local, regional and international markets, the Central do Cerrado is also a hub for information dissemination, technical interchange and support for communities seeking improvements in their production, organization and management processes.
The Central do Cerrado operates in accordance with Fair Trade principles and concepts, aimed at promoting social inclusion through strengthened productive initiatives which can bring together Cerrado conservation and income generation, as well as social protagonism.
